Legal Information and Company Details
Last updated: 2 November 2026
This page contains the legal information that applies to this website and to the business that operates it. It is written in plain English so that producers, broadcasters, technical managers and private clients can quickly identify the legal entity they are dealing with, understand the rules that apply to the site, and know where to find the policies that govern data, cookies, contracts and payments. If you need this information in another format, please contact us using the route set out in section 3.
1. Who We Are and Our Role as Website Operator
This website is owned and operated by buzzlofi (referred to in this notice as we, us and our). We are a United Kingdom business working across live television production. Our work covers studio equipment integration, dynamic camera techniques, acoustic optimisation, lighting design and rigging, and the production processes that allow news programmes, interviews and live shows to be broadcast reliably and repeatedly. This website exists to explain those services, to answer common technical questions about studio and outside-broadcast practice, and to allow production companies, broadcasters, systems integrators, venues and freelance crews to make contact with us.
For the purposes of the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), buzzlofi is the data controller in respect of personal data collected through this website, unless a separate written agreement between us and you names a different controller for a particular project. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use the content of enquiries for advertising purposes.
This page is a legal notice rather than promotional material. It summarises our public legal position and does not replace the hire agreement, statement of work, purchase order or terms and conditions that apply when you engage us for a project. Where there is any conflict between this page and a signed contract, the signed contract takes priority for that engagement.
2. Legal Form, Registration Details and Tax Identifiers
We are a private limited company. Under the Companies Act 2006 and the Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, a company must disclose specified identifying information, in legible characters, on its websites and in its business letters, order forms and emails. The required disclosures are set out below and are repeated at the foot of every page of this website.
- Company Name: buzzlofi
- Company Registration Number: 13033970
- Place of Registration: England and Wales
- Registered Office Address: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG
- VAT Registration Number: 494089156
- Responsible Representative: a serving director of the company, who can be reached using the contact route described in section 3
The Company Registration Number allows any customer, supplier or partner to check our filing history, accounts and current officers on the public register maintained by Companies House. The Place of Registration confirms that the company is registered in England and Wales rather than in Scotland or Northern Ireland, which matters when determining which courts and which body of law apply. The VAT Registration Number is quoted on our invoices wherever VAT is chargeable, and it is the reference you should use if you need to verify our VAT status or reclaim input tax. If you see a trading or brand name used alongside our registered name, the registered entity named above is always the party that contracts with you.
2.1 Licences, Authorisations and Regulatory Status
We do not carry on a regulated financial, legal, medical or insurance activity, and we are therefore not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or by any comparable statutory regulator. Where a project requires a broadcast licence, a performance licence, a road-closure or filming permit, a frequency assignment, an electrical installation certificate, a working-at-height permit or any equivalent approval, responsibility for obtaining that approval rests with the party named in the relevant contract unless we expressly accept that responsibility in writing. We are happy to assist with applications and to supply technical documentation, method statements and risk assessments that support them.
2.2 Professional and Public Liability Cover
We maintain insurance cover appropriate to equipment rental, integration work and on-site production support. The scope, limits and territorial reach of that cover change from time to time. If you need written confirmation of cover for a tender, an insurance schedule or a venue requirement, please request it through the contact route in section 3 and we will provide a current certificate or broker letter.
3. Registered Office and How to Contact Us
Our registered office is Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. This is the address at which formal documents may be served on the company and the address recorded on the public register. Day-to-day correspondence, equipment enquiries and project scheduling are handled through the same office and through the website contact form.
- Email: [email protected]
- Telephone: 01494 671234
- Postal Address: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG
Our contact page includes a form that lets you describe a production, a studio build, a camera or lighting requirement, or an integration project, and to ask for availability and pricing. We aim to reply to enquiries within two working days, although during busy production periods it can take longer. Please do not send confidential scripts, contributor identities or material that is subject to a non-disclosure obligation through the open form; ask us first and we will arrange a secure transfer method.
If you need to give formal notice under a contract, please follow the notice provisions of that contract rather than this general contact route, so that the notice is valid and time-stamped. We do not accept service of legal proceedings by email unless we have agreed to that in writing.
4. Purpose, Scope and Intended Audience of This Website
This website is a professional reference and business-to-business resource. It is intended for people who plan, build, crew or run live television output: production managers, vision and audio engineers, lighting directors, studio managers, systems integrators, venue technical staff, educators and students of broadcast production. It describes our services, explains good practice in studio equipment integration, camera technique, acoustics, lighting and production workflow, and provides a route to hire equipment or commission work.
The technical material published here is general in nature. Acoustic treatment, camera configuration, lighting positions and signal routing all depend on the dimensions, power supply, ceiling height, load capacity and existing infrastructure of a particular studio or location. Nothing on this website is engineering advice for a specific building, an electrical safety approval, or a substitute for a site survey and a written specification. We therefore accept no responsibility for a decision taken on the basis of general guidance alone. Visitors who need a studio designed, rigged or certified are asked to request a survey.
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of thirteen. If you believe that a child has submitted personal data to us, please tell us using the contact route in section 3 and we will delete it.
5. Access to the Website and Acceptable Use
You may browse this website free of charge. We do not guarantee that access will be uninterrupted, and we may suspend, withdraw or change all or part of the site for maintenance, security or commercial reasons. You are responsible for the device, software and network connection you use to reach the site, and for any data charges that your provider applies.
When using this website you agree not to:
- use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation, including sanctions and export controls;
- introduce viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, ransomware or any other harmful code, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server on which it is hosted, or any connected database or system;
- run automated scrapers, crawlers, harvesting tools or bulk download routines against the site, or use automated means to submit repeated contact forms or to place load on our infrastructure;
- copy, reproduce, republish or frame the site or any substantial part of it for a commercial purpose without our written permission;
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or attribution notice;
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any organisation or broadcaster, or submit information that is false, misleading or defamatory.
We may block access, cancel an enquiry or refuse service to anyone who breaches these rules, and we may report suspected criminal activity to the police or to the National Cyber Security Centre. Rights of recovery for losses caused by a breach of this section are reserved.
6. Intellectual Property, Trademarks and Permitted Use of Content
All material on this website, including text, layout, diagrams, photographic and video content, technical drawings, equipment lists, data compilations and the underlying code, is owned by or licensed to buzzlofi and is protected by copyright, database rights and design rights under the law of the United Kingdom.
You may print one copy and download short extracts of pages for your own internal business evaluation or private study, provided you keep all attribution notices intact and do not modify the material. You may quote a short passage in a review, article, tender document or teaching note provided the quotation is fair, accurate and clearly attributed to this website. Any other use requires our prior written permission, including reposting content on another website, uploading it to a document-sharing platform, using it in training material that is sold, or incorporating it into a commercial product.
The names, logos and service marks used on this website are trademarks of buzzlofi or of their respective owners. Nothing on this website grants any licence or right to use a trademark, and the appearance of a third-party brand, camera model, lighting fixture or software product does not imply any endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation. Requests to use our marks or to link to the site in a way that suggests a partnership should be sent to us first.
7. Accuracy, Availability and Proportionate Limitation of Liability
We take reasonable care to keep the information on this website accurate and current, but we provide it on an as-is and as-available basis. Manufacturer specifications change, equipment ranges are revised, prices move, and technical standards are updated. We therefore do not warrant that every statement, figure, specification or compatibility note is complete, current or free from error, and we do not warrant that the site will be free of viruses or other harmful components introduced by third parties.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business or opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss or corruption of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of this website or your reliance on its content.
Nothing in this notice limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for any breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 or section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, you benefit from statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing here affects them.
Where we do accept liability, our total aggregate liability arising from any single matter relating to your use of this website is limited to one hundred pounds, unless a separate written contract sets a different figure. Any claim should be notified to us promptly, and in any event within six years of the date on which the facts giving rise to the claim were known or ought reasonably to have been known.
8. External Links and Third-Party Content
This website may contain links to external websites, including manufacturer documentation portals, industry bodies, standards organisations, training providers and financing partners. Those links are provided for convenience only. We do not control the content of third-party sites, we do not review them continuously, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, security practices, privacy notices or cookie behaviour. A link does not imply endorsement of the linked site or of any product or service offered on it.
If you follow a link and leave our site, the terms and privacy practices of the destination site will apply to you. We recommend that you read those terms before providing personal data or placing an order. If you believe that a link from this site points to unlawful, misleading or harmful material, please tell us so that we can consider removing it.
9. Privacy, Cookies, Terms and Payments: Where to Read More
The following documents form part of the legal framework governing this website and our dealings with you. They are published as separate pages and should be read together with this notice:
- the Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect through the site and through enquiries, why we collect it, the lawful bases we rely on under UK GDPR, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights available to you, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office;
- the Cookie Policy, which describes the cookies and similar technologies used on the site, distinguishes between strictly necessary cookies and optional analytics or preference cookies, explains the lifetime of each category, and explains how you can accept, refuse or withdraw consent through the cookie banner and through your browser settings, in line with PECR;
- the Terms and Conditions, which set out the rules for using the site and, where applicable, the terms on which we hire equipment or supply integration and production services;
- the Payment and Refund Policy, which explains accepted payment methods, deposits, invoicing, late-payment interest, cancellation windows, hire extensions, and the circumstances in which refunds or credit notes are issued.
Where you provide us with personal data through the contact form, we use it only to answer your enquiry and to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. You can withdraw consent to optional cookies at any time without losing access to the site.
10. Applicable Law, Competent Courts and Consumer Dispute Rights
This notice, your use of the website, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it are governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute.
If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of that jurisdiction continue to apply to you. Nothing in this notice removes any right you have to bring a claim in your local courts.
Before starting proceedings we ask that you raise the issue with us directly using the contact route in section 3, so that we have the opportunity to investigate and resolve it. We are not obliged to participate in an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedure, and we do not currently nominate a certified ADR provider. Consumers in the United Kingdom can obtain free initial advice from Citizens Advice or from a trading standards service, and can use the relevant ombudsman or redress scheme where one applies to the service in question. The EU online dispute resolution platform is not available for contracts with United Kingdom traders.
11. Accessibility, Equipment Compliance and Environmental Obligations
We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible. We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines at level AA, to use clear headings and sufficient colour contrast, and to keep the structure of each page simple for visitors using screen readers or keyboard navigation. As a private business we are not within the scope of the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018, and we do not publish a formal accessibility statement for that regime, but we still welcome reports of any barrier you encounter so that we can fix it.
Where equipment supplied by us falls within the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013, the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Regulations 2012, the Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009, or electromagnetic compatibility and low-voltage safety rules, we expect it to be used safely, inspected before use, and returned in the condition in which it was supplied. Hirers are responsible for protecting equipment from environmental damage, for the safe handling of batteries and lamps, for the disposal of consumables, and for complying with site-specific electrical, fire and manual-handling requirements. Guidance available on this website about rigging loads, power distribution and cable management does not replace a competent on-site risk assessment.
12. Changes to This Legal Information and Last-Updated Date
We review this page regularly and will update it when our legal details, our trading arrangements, the law, or the functionality of the website changes. The version published here is the current version and replaces any earlier version. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the page or by a notice elsewhere on the site.
You are encouraged to check this page when you return to the site, and in any event before you rely on it for a tender, a compliance file or a contractual document.
